Referral Scheme – Terms and Conditions

  1. The First Period: means the period from and including the first day of the month to and including the fifteenth day of the month;

  2. The Second Period: means the period from and including the sixteenth day of the month to and including the last day of the month;

  1. Subject to the following terms and conditions, an individual (the Referee) shall be entitled to a referral fee (the Referral Fee) should they recommend any building managed by The Collective (Living) Limited, t/a The Collective (a Collective Building) to another individual (the Candidate).

  2. The Candidate shall also be entitled to a one-off rebate on their licence fee (the Rebate).

  3. The Rebate and Referral Fee shall each be1:

    1. in the case of members of The Collective Old Oak:

      1. £150 in respect of a licence period of at least nine months; or

      2. £200 in respect of a licence period of at least twelve months.

    2. in the case of non-members of The Collective Old Oak:

      1. £100 in respect of a licence period of at least nine months; or

      2. £150 in respect of a licence period of at least twelve months.

  1. In order to qualify for the Referral Fee and the Rebate:

    1. the Referee must, having obtained their consent to do so, input the Candidate’s email into either:

      1. refer-a-friend page on Collective website (https://www.thecollective.com/refer-a-friend/); or

      2. through refer-a-friend function in the Collective Mobile App, (each, a Notification);

    2. the Notification must be received by the Collective prior to any communication or correspondence between The Collective on the one hand and by the Candidate, or anyone else acting on their behalf, on the other;

    3. the Candidate must enter into a licence agreement (or similar) for a period of not less than 9 months (the Licence Agreement); and

    4. the Candidate must satisfy the Collective’s standard KYC checks for an incoming member.

  1. If the Candidate moves in during the First Period, the Rebate will be deducted from the Candidate’s first rent payment, when it becomes due.

  2. If the Candidate moves in during the Second Period, the Rebate will be deducted from the Candidate’s second rent payment, when it becomes due.

  3. For a Referee living in a Collective Building, the Referral Fee will be deducted from the Referee’s rent payment which falls the month after the Candidate’s first full rent payment.

  4. For a Referee not living in a Collective Building, the Referral Fee shall be paid, by electronic transfer, to a UK bank account notified to The Collective by the Referee, within seven days of receipt by the Collective of the Candidate's first rent payment.

  5. The Collective will not pay the Referral Fee to an overseas bank account or by cash.

  6. In the event the Referee fails to notify The Collective of the details of their bank account within 30 days of the commencement of the Licence Agreement, payment of the Referral Fee shall be entirely within the discretion of The Collective.

  1. Notwithstanding any other term contained herein, in the event a Candidate’s Licence is terminated within the first 30 days of the term (whether by the Candidate or the Collective), then:

    1. if sums are due to the Candidate as part of the termination, such sums will first be reduced by an amount equal to any Rebate that has been paid to the Candidate; and

    2. The Referral Fee will not be due to the Referee.

*The Collective reserves the right to suspend or terminate the Licence Referral Scheme at any time without notice.

1The Rebate and Referral Fee are subject to change. For the promotional period of Friday 22nd August - Wednesday 12th September 2018, the rate of the Rebate and Referral Fee will each be increased by £50. In order to qualify for this promotion, the Candidate must have booked the tour of a Collective Building by 12th September 2018.
